The Power of Choice
The town of Suhum in the Eastern Region of Ghana is a growing township without any social benefits like many parts of Ghana and Africa. Since 2016 Rev. Stephen Kwakye started a youth mentoring program with Sound Biblical teachings and motivational speeches since most of the kids in these areas are living in abject poverty. Most of the boys drop out of school to ride commercial motorcycles to make a living. Girls are tempted to fall for these school dropout motorbike boys thereby becoming pregnant like Millicent’s story above
Family Health and Education Foundation Intl. Inc conducted a program to teach the sanctity of life to school-going children in Ghana. Recognizing the importance of abstinence from sex, instilling values and ethics at a young age, this initiative aimed to raise awareness about the value and significance of human life, respect for others, and empathy.
Recently my team and I have introduced the Power of Choice Programs in five public and private schools where the students are advised to make the right decision to avoid teenage pregnancy and drugs which are destroying our future leaders. The School Districts are in full support with the programs we are offering to the students. The challenge is huge and we are determined to establish a students club where the members would meet to fellowship and also receive their monthly supplies of SANITARY SUPPLIES.
